All of our unique, hand dyed colour ways hold traditional Newfoundland and Labrador colloquial sayings or words.
'Wreckhouse' refers to an area just outside Port aux Basques (where one of the island link ferries shuttle to and fro) where the mountains form a natural 'wind tunnel'. When the wind hits a certain speed, no vehicles are allowed to pass on that section of highway as transport trucks have been known to be lifted up and thrown by the wind!
